OTHER EVENTS IN PLYMOUTH
Plymouth Radical Cinema
Plymouth Radical Cinema is free, and it's on once a month at Devonport Live (see below), on the 2nd Tuesday at 7.30 pm. We brings you great films that are not always to be found at the multiplex, across a range of radical issues. Any donations received are shared 50/50 with the venue, and we use our half for films.
Our January film will after all be going ahead in spite of building works, however there may be some disruption to the catering. Or not. The amazing Sarah and Katie will keep it to a minimum.
The Eagle Huntress is the documentary film on 9th of January. Aishol-pan, a 13-year-old girl, trains to become the first female in 12 generations of her Kazakh family to become an eagle hunter and rises to the pinnacle of a tradition that has been handed down from father to son for centuries. But there are many old Kazakh eagle hunters who reject the idea of any female taking part in their ancient tradition. This film has been described as an utterly joyous, life-affirming tale about what a girl can achieve when she has the determination, application and the support of her family.

The excellent Devonport Live Café, at 56/58 George Street Devonport, PL1 4HR is our venue. George Street runs left from the bottom of Ker Street, which has the Devonport Guildhall at the top. The café stays open on film nights when you can buy a delicious veggie/vegan dinner for just £3.50. There are also wonderful homemade cakes and drinks, or you're welcome to bring your own, alcoholic or otherwise.
Why not come early, have a meal and meet your friends?
You can now join Devonport Live, and as a member there are certain advantages. Ask at the café for more information.
